International Success for Team Chikara

Another International Success for Team Chikara.

Three of our students from the Team Chikara Dojo, took part in the Kyokushin Spanish Full Contact Karate Championships in Barcelona recently. The competition welcomed fighters from Russia, Hungary, Poland and various other European countries.

From the three who competed, two returned home triumphant. Brown belt, Lindsay Young took the gold in the Women’s over 35 Kata category for an outstanding performance and green belt Reza Azhadari – Nia achieved silver in the men’s over 35 heavyweight category. In the women’s heavyweight category, black belt Kenzie Williams showed great fighting spirit against two opponents from Hungary and Russia, but did not manage to place this time around.

“Our Extended Kyokushin Family..”

“It was a great experience for our members to take part in this competition. It is always refreshing when we travel to other countries to visit our extended Kyokushin family and meet up with friends. The hard work we endured previous to this competition has most certainly paid off. I am extremely proud of everyone for doing their utmost and best” – Chief Instructor, Adam Walker.

Instructors at the Chikara Dojo of Kyokushin Karate have been teaching full contact karate, self defence and kickboxing for the past 19 years and despite receiving no public funding, members always attend as many competitions as possible. They have travelled to many different countries to compete, including France, Greece, America and Japan to name but a few.
